A Study Unit
Study Units provide bring together primary and secondary material on over 500 historical topics. The content is carefully selected by the History Study Centre editorial team; some items can also be found in the other searches, while some are unique to the Study Units.
Each Study Unit has an introduction to the topic. You can view some highlighted items at the top of the page. Scroll down or use the jump-down menu to see more items organised by content type.
Introductions may be taken from one of the reference works in History Study Centre or written by the editorial team. Click 'More' for the full introduction.
Around five items are selected as highlights for each Study Unit. These could be from any of the available content types: for example, a primary source document of particular significance or a journal article that gives a good overview of an important aspect of the topic.
Use the jump-down menu to check all the items selected for a particular content type. Study Units can include topic overviews, reference articles, biographies, historiographical articles, maps, primary sources documents, images, video clips, journal articles, Web links and document based questions.
